Following the devastating earthquakes that shook Turkey and Syria, Qatar will deliver 10,000 mobile homes to the two nations, the Qatari Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the action “is part of Qatar’s efforts to assist to the relief of the earthquake-affected people in Syria and Turkey.”
The beginning of an airlift to aid earthquake victims in Turkey was ordered by Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Monday.
According to the official news agency QNA, the nation will also get a rescue team, a field hospital, relief materials, tents, and winter equipment.
At least 3,549 people have died as a result of two earthquakes that occurred on Monday, one measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale and the other 7.6 on the same timescale in southern Turkey’s Kahramanmaraş region (AFAD).
According to government and rescue personnel, the tragedy in Syria resulted in approximately 1,622 fatalities and more than 3,649 injuries.
