বাংলাদেশ লেডিস ক্লাব অস্ট্রেলিয়ার আয়োজনে এই প্রথম সিডনিতে মীনা বাজার অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। শনিবার সিডনির চুরুলাস্থ লিবারটি হিল ক্রিস্টিয়ান সেন্টারে এই মিনা বাজার দুপুর ১২ টা থেকে শুরু হয়ে রাত ১১ টায় শেষ হয়। বিনামূল্যে প্রবেশ ও আশেপাশে গাড়ী পার্কিং এর সুবিধাসহ নয়ানাভিরাম সাজে সজ্জিত মীনা বাজার প্রাঙ্গনে ছিল প্রচুর দর্শক সমাবেশ।আনন্দ উল্লাস, রকমারি পোশাকের স্টল, মুখরোচক খাবার ও গহনার স্টল, শিশুদের ফেজ পেইন্টিং, মেহেদি, যেমন খুশি তেমন সাজোসহ মনোজ্ঞ সাংস্কৃতিক আয়োজনে অনুষ্ঠান প্রাঙ্গন এক টুকরো বাংলাদেশে পরিনত হয়।

After the long wait of pandemic, the traditional Bangladeshi community festival ‘ Boishakhi Mela’ held in Sydney, Australia.

The Bengali New Year falls on the 14th of April followed by the Gregorian calendar but this year the traditional ‘Baishakhi Mela’ held on Saturday 28th of May at the huge venue of Bankstown Passway in Sydney by the initiative of Bangabandhu Parishad Sydney, Australia.

This Boishakhi Mela in Sydney is a great gathering of expatriate Bengalis and other language speakers in Australia. It became one of the major multi-cultural event in Australia. It’s color, diversity, vibrant & cultural value attracts more than 20,000 people every year.

Boishakhi Mela is one of the most important occasions of Bangla New Year’s Day. Among the popular fairs of Bengali culture and heritage, Boishakhi Mela is significant for its own features and appeals. It is a festival of joy and pleasure.

শনিবার বঙ্গবন্ধু পরিষদ সিডনি, অস্ট্রেলিয়ার উদ্যোগে সিডনির ব্যাংকসটাউন প্যাসওয়ের বিশাল ভেন্যুতে এই ঐতিহ্যবাহী ‘বৈশাখীমেলা’ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। সিডনির এই বৈশাখী মেলা অস্ট্রেলিয়া প্রবাসী বাঙালি ও অন্যান্য ভাষা–ভাষীদের এক মহামিলন মেলা।

প্রায় বিশ বছর ধরে বঙ্গবন্ধু পরিষদ সিডনি, অস্ট্রেলিয়া এই বৈশাখী মেলার আয়োজন করে আসছে। বঙ্গবন্ধু পরিষদ সিডনি, অস্ট্রেলিয়ারসাধারণ সম্পাদক, এই বৈশাখী মেলার রূপকার ও মেলা কমিটির আহ্বায়ক গাউসুল আলম শাহজাদা জানান, অস্ট্রেলিয়ায় জন্ম নেয়া ওবেড়ে উঠা বাংলাদেশি নতুন প্রজন্মকে জাতির ভাষা, সাহিত্য, সংস্কৃতি ও এর ইতিহাসের সাথে পরিচয় করিয়ে দেয়াই এই মেলার প্রধানউদ্দেশ্য।
