After two people in an eastern Melbourne house were awakened by the sound of “gunshots,” police are requesting information from the public.
Officers were summoned to Diane Crescent in Doncaster East, according to Detective Senior Sergeant Rohan Courtis of the Manningham Crime Investigation Unit.
According to the police, two gunshots were fired into the front of two men’s homes at 5 am while they were asleep.
We are aware that a shotgun was used to fire two shots into the front of the building, the man added.
“The front entrance and the building’s façade have both been shot at.
“Two cartridges were left on the sidewalk right outside the building.”
Anyone with information or CCTV from Diane Crescent and Maggs St in Doncaster East is urged to call Crimestoppers, according to the police.
Witnesses have reported hearing a male speak, and according to Detective Senior Sergeant Courtis, “we’re looking for help to identify the car that has departed the area.”
“We are aware that the perpetrators arrived in a vehicle and departed shortly after,”
The two guys inside the house, according to detective senior sergeant Courtis, were unharmed and assisting police with their inquiries.
There are no injuries to the occupants at this time, but it is undoubtedly upsetting for both them and the nearby people, he added.
“The building’s interior has been damaged.
We are currently investigating whether there are any ties to the premises or if this was a random attack.
