In Melbourne’s inner north-west, a P-plater was charged after colliding with another car and a brick wall.
The 19-year-old driver, who escaped injury in the collision in Ascot Vale, was apprehended by the dog squad after fleeing the scene and hiding in an ally, according to police.
Officers said he was fortunate not to have been seriously hurt after allegedly running a red light in the reportedly stolen Toyota Landcruiser overnight at the intersection of Maribyrnong and Ascot Vale roads.
Before the Landcruiser crashed into a brick wall, another automobile was struck and forced into a stop signal, according to the police.
According to police, a violent burglary took place in Kew, during which the Landcruiser was taken.
The Cairnlea, 19-year-old is accused with eight offenses, including reckless conduct endangering serious injury, driving recklessly, intoxicated possession of a controlled substance, and intoxicated possession of a firearm.
He will show up today at Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court.
