As “frustrated” locals swarm a crisis meeting to discuss the crime wave affecting the outback town of Alice Springs, a 16-year-old kid has been detained over an alleged axe attack on another teenage boy.

The youngster was repeatedly struck in the face, stomach, and leg, according to the victim’s mother, but the axe did not cut him.
Before being transported to the hospital, paramedics responded and attended to the boy on the site. The local mother shared information about the alleged assault on social media and thanked the man who intervened in a message.
NT Police reported that a 16-year-old boy had been taken into custody. No charges had been brought, and no one else had been taken into custody.
