According to AL general secretary Obaidul Quader on Thursday, the ruling Awami League will continue to be watchful of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s movements and remain on the streets to defend people’s lives and property.
“We won’t modify our stance, but we’ll be wary about the BNP movement since they can’t incite anarchy. We are currently on the streets, and we won’t be leaving them while we carry out our responsibility to safeguard people’s lives and property.
The comments were made by Quader, who is also the minister for roads, bridges, and transportation, while discussing current events with reporters at the secretariat.
In response to a query regarding the BNP’s leadership, Quader stated, “The Awami League will participate in the upcoming election under Sheikh Hasina’s leadership, but who is the BNP’s leader? They participated in the election in the past under Kamal Hossain’s direction.
The BNP’s sit-in on Wednesday didn’t involve any violence, although BNP activists attacked police in Faridpur, the Awami League leader claimed, but it didn’t get to that level.
