On Tuesday evening, a 68-year-old man passed while in detention in Brisbane.
The individual was detained at a Fortitude Valley residence at around 7 o’clock on suspicion of narcotics offenses.
When they arrived to the Brisbane City Watchhouse a short while later, according to the police, he was discovered unconscious inside the police car.
He received first treatment from police and paramedics, but they were unable to revive him, according to the police.
The individual was not First Nations, the police claimed.
His death is being looked into by the Ethical Standards Command, and a report will be made for the coroner.
