In connection with the murder of a 71-year-old in a retirement community in Adelaide’s south, police have detained and charged a 45-year-old male.
At around 9.40 p.m. on Sunday, emergency services were called to the home on Braes Cl, Reynella East, in response to reports of a stabbing.
The 71-year-body old’s was discovered by police in a residence in The Braes Retirement Village.
The deceased was identified as Bob Eldridge by friends and neighbors.
A 45-year-old from the address was reportedly detained and charged with murder, according to South Australian police.
According to a police statement, “Police would want to reassure the community that this is not a random event with both parties knowing each other.”
The 45-year-old will appear in Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Wednesday after being denied bail.
