The amount of compensation payable for the cancellation of Australia’s submarine agreement with France has been revealed recently. Australia will have to pay 830 million to cancel it. The government has reached an agreement with the Naval Group. The submarines were supposed to be supplied by the group, which was canceled by the Morrison government.
With a payout of ৮ 830 million, the total amount of compensation for cancellation of the deal stood at 3.4 billion.
Mr Albanizi said it cost less than initially thought. However, Mr Albanizi did not miss the opportunity to give his predecessor, former Prime Minister Scott Morrison, a chance.
However, those who were part of the previous government disagreed. Opposition spokesman Andrew Hasty said the amount of money Mr Albanzi was referring to was not entirely accurate.
The Naval Group issued a brief statement. It said they had reached an agreement with the Australian government, which was fair and equitable.
This agreement with the French has been replaced by the Akas Partnership. Through which the United Kingdom and the United States will assist Australia in procuring nuclear-powered submarine ships.
Opposition leader Peter Dutton claimed that the new government was planning to scrap the agreement.
