The last time, Sri Lanka won a bilateral ODI series at their homeland against Australia in 1992. 30 years have passed since then. The two teams played a total of three bilateral ODI series on Sri Lankan soil. In all of which the name of the team that won every series was Australia.
As a result, Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka said before the fourth ODI against Aussie, “We have not won any ODI series at our homeland since 1992. I want to move forward after winning this series.”
The team overcame in this series and broken 30 years drought. In the fourth ODI in Colombo on Tuesday, Shanakar’s team defeated Australia. They won by 4 runs with the help of Sri Lankan bowlers despite David Warner’s fight after Charith Asalanka’s maiden century.
