State funeral for the Australian cricket legend Shane Warne

Following the death of Australian cricket legend Shane Warne, the federal and Victorian governments have decided to hold a state funeral.

“Victoria has lost an icon,” Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews told reporters on Saturday. Australia has lost a legend. The whole cricket world is mourning his loss.

He said in a statement that the government would allow a state funeral to honor his legacy and contributions.

Shane Warne was one of the greatest cricketers of all time in Australia. He ended his career with 1001 international wickets.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has announced that the 45,000-seat Great Southern Stand at Melbourne Cricket Ground will be permanently named after Shane Warne.

The government will rename the Great Southern Stand at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Where he took his hat-trick and 600th wicket, ‘wrote Andrews on Twitter.

“We have lost one of Australia’s best cricketers and we are shocked by his tragic death,” Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said in a statement.

“In recognition of Shane Warne’s national achievements, the Commonwealth government will offer a state funeral for his family,” he added.

The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Commerce said they would travel to Thailand today to bring Warne’s body for burial.
