A man from Perth is facing charges following an incident involving the accused dragging and pushing of an 89-year-old man from his car during its theft.
At approximately 2.25 p.m. on Tuesday, a stranger approached a man in his 70s who was standing outside a house on Dawson Street in Armadale, according to police.
An argument broke out, and the 32-year-old male intruder allegedly made off with the resident’s cell phone before fleeing the scene of the crime.
The 32-year-old allegedly returned to a neighboring property on Benjamin Street ten minutes later, where he allegedly approached an 89-year-old man at the driver’s side door, following the guy’s parking his car in the carport.
After that, he allegedly pulled the 89-year-old man from his car, shoved him to the floor, and took his car.
The two guys had never met before.
After suffering injuries to his left hip and wrist, the 89-year-old man was sent to the hospital.
The man was apprehended yesterday by the police after they raided a residence in Gosnells.
Near Gosnells, the thief’s stolen car was found.
