As expected, the annual Melbourne Cup attracted a slew of famous faces.
Stars such as Bob Geldof, Nicky Hilton, and Elizabeth Hurley were present at the renowned Birdcage marquee.
“It’s been amazing, this is the first time I’ve been to the Melbourne Cup,” remarked Hurley.
Along with a companion, Hilton was present.
“I’m not with my sister, I’m with my other sister this year, but we’re having a great time,” she pointed out.
Marathon runner Nedd Brockmann popped the champagne bottle to open the party in the G.H. Mumm marquee.
The Cup carnival party drew some 5,000 people, including Olympic gold medalist Harry Garside, who was among them.
“We can let our hair down, a couple of drinks, which we never get to do,” he added.
