She “always saw the good” in people, according to the woman’s relatives, who spoke about the woman who was discovered dead in her boyfriend’s Melbourne house.
This morning, in the north-east suburb of Melbourne called South Morang, the body of 35-year-old Nikkita Azzopardi was discovered.
They say the image of her family being the first to discover her has stayed with them.
“I climbed the stairs and proceeded… We entered through the entrance… My sister was just here… Her brother Shaun expressed his inability to remove the image from his mind.
The absence of Azzopardi from yesterday night’s family BBQ caused her parents and two brothers to grow more concerned.
No one answered the door when her dad went to see her boyfriend at his place.
Since she did not answer to their calls or texts, they came back this morning and broke into the house.
Shaun stated that was the moment they discovered her.
“It just feels like a dream, to be honest … doesn’t feel real,” stated the man.
To put it simply, she had an uncanny knack for seeing the best in people.
It will be missed by me.
Ten days earlier, when his sister took his children go-karting, Shaun had their last sighting.
At around 10:00 in the morning, police at a residence on Reid Street in South Morang declared a crime scene.
The 33-year-old male from South Morang, who was Nikkita’s lover, is currently in detention and is likely to face questions regarding the death.
For over two years, the two had been romantically involved.
The “introverted person” was described by Shaun as his sister’s boyfriend.
Both individuals “spent time at the house” where the woman’s body was discovered, according to the police, who added that they were still investigating the specifics of their living situation.
Between the home where she was discovered and another Thornbury residence where she resided with roommates, Nikkita spent her time.
In order to try to determine what happened, forensic investigators will stay at the house “well into the night” to examine the crime scene.
