A stranger attacked the toddler when she was in her mother’s arms at an East Victoria Park retail center.
At before 11:30 a.m., police detained a lady they believed to be 21 years old at Mirrabooka Shopping Centre.
One count of aggravated assault causing bodily harm was filed against her shortly after.
The assault, according to store employees, happened so fast that the only sound was the mother’s cry, and customers ran to her aid.
The young girl’s face was hurt.
