Overnight in Adelaide, a car crash caused by flames killed a 19-year-old lady.
While one of the two drivers involved in the crash at Waterloo Corner managed to escape unharmed, 19-year-old Amy was not among them. Witnesses rushed to their aid.
The Port Wakefield Highway was the scene of the accident.
Just after midnight, the young woman allegedly stepped out into the path of a tipper truck that was going the other way.
While Amy’s Lexus was engulfed in flames, a passerby made a fruitless effort to extricate her.
After being injured in the accident, the truck driver was transported to the hospital.
Now, he is helping the police with their investigation.
Highway fatalities in South Australia have reached 69 for the year, with five of those deaths occurring in the past five days alone.
Amy’s life is tragically among them.
