Two Australians were among eleven people apprehended in anti-prostitution investigations in Bali, which have been associated with former Essendon Premiership player Ricky Olarenshaw.
Michael Le Grand and Lynley Le Grand, his Indonesian wife and a couple from Melbourne, are facing accusations of running a spa in Bali that provides prostitute services.
Two different spas were raided by the local police, who took cash, menus, and condoms as evidence.
One of the establishments was allegedly making about $300,000 per month from prostitution that was passed off as luxurious spa services.
According to a police spokeswoman from Bali, “most of their customers were foreigners” based on their investigation and the testimony of witnesses and therapists.
Twelve years at Kerobokan Prison awaits the apprehended. Even though he and his wife are no longer together, Olarenshaw has lived in Bali for quite some time.
However, last year, they commemorated his 50th birthday in a joint celebration hosted by the crew from one of the spas that was raided.
The event had a playboy mansion motif.
Olarenshaw reportedly returned to Australia with his business partners prior to the raids.
Olarenshaw may not have been aware of the alleged criminal behavior, according to Mark News.
The Le Grand pair are receiving consular support from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
