As a man from Perth was savagely assaulted in his own home, his terrified family stood by and did nothing.
The 43-year-old man allegedly swung a hammer at the victim’s wife and two little children, causing them to cry in terror.

The man suffered a cracked skull and a broken jaw; a concerned neighbor and an off-duty nurse hurried to his help and had him sent to the hospital for surgery.
“He was injured, mostly on his head, that’s where there was the most bleeding, but I had to put a bandage across his neck because his jaw was open,” the nurse stated.
In the hospital, the man was battling for his life.
The suspect allegedly persisted in his criminal spree, breaking into several units and slamming windows.
The 43-year-old was indicted on 10 charges of criminal damage to property and one count of grievous bodily injury.
The individual facing charges has already made an appearance at the Midland Magistrates Court.
