A guy was assassinated by a drug dealer brandishing a shotgun during a home invasion weeks after deciding to purchase $1,500 worth of cocaine on credit.
On November 30, 2020, in the Sydney neighborhood of Tregear, Bahra Youseff murdered Adnan Salameh, a 30-year-old man, in front of his partner.
The 23-year-old’s trial began in August and concluded today with a verdict of guilty on one charge of murder handed down by a jury in the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
Crown prosecutor Sylvie Sloane informed the jury during the trial that roughly six weeks before to the shooting, Salameh’s boyfriend had purchased $1,500 worth of cocaine on credit from Youseff.
After Salameh lunged at the dealer and his accomplice, who were both balaclava-clad and armed with shotguns, they stormed the couple’s home and opened fire.
Blood was shed and the debt was never settled. Sloane informed the jury that the couple had used the narcotic “ice” just before the murder and were selling narcotics to support their addictions.
After learning that on November 8, 2020, Salameh and his accomplice had burglarized the home of two acquaintances and stolen money, Youseff plotted the house invasion.
The jury disagreed with his attorney, John Stratton SC, who had argued that there wasn’t enough proof to connect his client to the crime.
Stratton claimed that before to his death, Salameh had increased his drug use, refused to pay his obligations, and cheated people out of their money.
The sentencing hearing for Youseff is scheduled for November 12.
