The victim of a man’s alleged attempt to abduct her committed the crime after learning his license plate number by heart.
It was at 8 o’clock yesterday in Queen’s Domain, north-east Hobart, when the 60-year-old man reportedly attempted to ram a youngster into a vehicle.
According to Detective Sergeant Sam Storer, the victim was able to give a complete account of what happened, including the would-be abductor’s registration, and was unharmed.
He was apprehended by the police and is now facing charges of attempted forceful abduction.
He was present today in the Hobart Magistrates Court.
Witnesses and dashcam footage are being sought after by the Tasmanian Police.
