The “catastrophic” humanitarian situation in Gaza and the West Bank has prompted Australia to contribute an additional $10 million.
The United Nations Population Fund and the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund will receive the funds to offer vital assistance, particularly to women and girls.
The remark was delivered by Penny Wong, the minister of foreign affairs, who reiterated her plea for a ceasefire.
“Australia’s support will help address the dire humanitarian situation with the delivery of nutrition and essential hygiene and health products,” according to her.
Help those in need as soon as possible in a secure and uninterrupted manner, and ensure that those providing aid are themselves protected so that they can do their vital job.
“We continue to press for a ceasefire, the protection of civilians and the release of hostages.”
The misery must end, according to Pat Conroy, the minister of international development.
