Overnight, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, a car slammed into a tree and caught fire, killing two persons inside.
At around 10.45 p.m. yesterday, a black Toyota Corolla collided with a tree on Burnt Bridge Creek Deviation in Balgowlah and subsequently caught fire.
Firefighters put out the fire after receiving a call to emergency services.
Both 23-year-old car enthusiast Mathew Wong and 26-year-old Kasia Kulary perished in the collision.
Last night, the two were at a Mosman vehicle meet-up with their longtime friends from the vehicle Culture Australia club.
“Kasia was, and still is, the light of all of our lives,” Kulary’s family remarked.
Her loved ones will miss her terribly.
Expert police are now examining the scene of the crime to establish whether or not speed played a role.
