The two innocent victims of a woman’s violent rampage in Adelaide’s north-east suburbs have described how they were attacked at random and thanked bystanders who rushed to aid them and restrained their attacker until help arrived.
Four people were attacked outside the Gilles Plains shopping mall, including Caelan Burnett.
“I noticed she was getting closer to me so I tried to pull my head up and next thing I noticed she’s got her fists in my face and then she’s got me by the back of the hair,” he added.
Cheryl-Lee Phillips, a 65-year-old wheelchair user, was another casualty.
She was struck multiple times in the head and face while heading home from the gym.
Soon after, witnesses apprehended the attacker, allowing authorities to take her into custody.
“There are individuals who genuinely care,” Phillips remarked.
Under police guard, the 35-year-old lady was transported to the hospital.
There are four counts of assault against her.
