An Australian tourist, who might be on the South Island of New Zealand, has the attention of the authorities there.
It is thought that Elizabeth Wielga left her North Island lodging in Tongariro last Friday and was scheduled to depart from Auckland later that same day.
“Her family and police are concerned for her welfare and want to establish that she’s safe,” stated the local police.
Police in New Zealand are looking for an Australian tourist who went missing last Friday after checking out of her hostel.
She was supposed to take a flight out of Auckland the same day.
“Ms Wielga does not have a phone or computer. “It’s possible she doesn’t realise police are trying to locate her.”
Word on the street is that Wielga may have made her way to Wellington, according to reports received by the police today.
“Information suggests she may be intending to travel to Picton,” according to law enforcement.
“We encourage anyone who has seen Ms Wielga, or who has information that might help us locate her to get in touch.”
