This morning in Bellmere, north of Brisbane, there was a violent home invasion that resulted in the shooting of a man in the chest and shoulder in front of his family.
Just after one in the morning, four robbers disguised as ski masks broke into Jim Broadley’s house.
The males were captured on camera breaking through the front entrance.
Madyson, the stepdaughter of Broadley, said, “There were three guys standing next to each other and the one in the middle was pointing a gun at my stepdad.”
“My stepdad was just screaming at them to get out of our house.”They fired twice, but he took two bullets.
“My mum was screaming for us to help her because my stepdad got shot.”
Before the incident, a little black automobile was spotted outside the residence, and the perpetrators fled through the front door.
Another witness stated, “They jumped in the car, did a U-turn here, and drove off.”
Shortly after, Madyson and her mother assisted Broadley, who had fallen on the ground, until the police arrived.
“Me and my mum were pressing onto his wounds to stop the bleeding, he was just saying he couldn’t breathe,” said Madyson.
He was brought to Caboolture Hospital with injuries that could have killed him.
The crime site was blocked off by police, who are still looking for the perpetrators.
