Following reports of a collision and stabbing, emergency personnel were dispatched to the Princes Highway and Old Bush Road crossroads in Engadine at approximately nine in the morning on Sunday.
Following a collision between a blue Mitsubishi Lancer and a white Jaguar, the 58-year-old male was reportedly observed running from the scene.
After using a laser, the authorities took him into custody.
Authorities verified that a male policeman had sustained severe cuts to his left wrist, purportedly during the arrest.
A 48-year-old female passenger in the Jaguar was discovered to have had multiple stab wounds.
According to investigators, the man and woman were romantically involved.
The reason for his erratic driving, according to the police, was that she had been stabbed in the seconds before the collision.
The Lancer’s 20-year-old female driver fractured her wrist, while another guy, 67, was stabbed in the belly.
After receiving emergency care, the five were transported to St. George Hospital and Liverpool Hospital.
The police officer and the male passenger in the lancer were released from the hospital, while the 48-year-old woman and the 67-year-old man are still in stable circumstances at St. George Hospital.
The 58-year-old male, who is known to the police, is being kept under police guard at Liverpool Hospital and is in a stable condition.
He was charged today with assault resulting in actual bodily harm, reckless wounding, hurting someone with the goal to resist or prevent arrest, and wounding someone with the intent to murder in relation to domestic violence.
In addition, he was accused of reckless driving resulting in serious injury, neglecting to halt and offer assistance following a collision that resulted in serious injury, and resisting law enforcement officers while they were performing their duties.
Strike Force Valdez officers are still looking into the event.
