On the north coast of New South Wales, a guy was discovered inside a surfboard bag on the driveway of a house.
He was described as a kind buddy.
At around 7 p.m. on Thursday, emergency personnel were summoned to a residence in Darkwood, which is roughly 67 kilometers southwest of Coffs Harbour, where they discovered Mark Myers, 62.
Lisa Cummings, 35, is being investigated for possible murder while the police look into her relationship with the victim.
Myers was a kind man, according to his friend Jessica Greene.
“I’ve come over last night to find out answers and nobody could tell us anything,” she stated.
When Greene was eighteen, Myers reportedly took her in off the streets, gave her a job, and provided her with a roof over her head.
“He’s always loving, like if anyone was struggling, he’d say ‘I’m more than happy to help you out’,” she continued.
Myers’ Nambucca Heads home has been turned into a crime scene by the local police and the NSW homicide squad.
Inspector Vince Nicholls of NSW Police stated, “We’re conducting a number of crime scene examinations to find any evidence that might be at that property.”
“At this stage, I can confirm it was a domestic relationship but I can’t go into the circumstances of that relationship.”
Currently, police are looking into whether Myers had taken Cummings in as a refugee. “He took her in because he has a big heart,” Greene said.
Cummings will return to court on Monday after being denied bail this morning.
