The murder of a cyclist along Melbourne’s bayside is under investigation by the police.
Yesterday, shortly after 8 o’clock in the evening, a vehicle allegedly struck the cyclist before driving off on Plummer Street in Port Melbourne.
The motorist reportedly surrendered shortly after and was subsequently arrested, according to the police.
At the spot, the rider died; his identity has not been officially released.
Authorities stated that officers from the Major Collision Investigation Unit were looking into the matter.
“Investigations are ongoing, and the exact circumstances are still up in the air,” stated the Victoria Police.
