A guy has been charged with stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise from a shopping center in Sydney, allegedly while holding a knife to a customer’s head.
Around 9.30 am, Lachlan Ebejer, 24, is accused of stealing many products from a retailer at Westfield Parramatta.
Ebejer apparently began at Chemist Warehouse, where he took off with earrings from Studex and a scent called Adidas Ice Dive.
Subsequently, it is said that he went into Crystal Gifts and Homewares, took out a knife, and placed it to a customer’s head.
After fending him off, the 36-year-old dialed triple zero. He was eventually located by the police, where he was accused of trying to attack an officer.
The 69 Playstation gift cards, worth nearly $3000, the perfume, and the jewelry were taken by them.
The entire incident, according to the proprietor of Crystal Gifts and Homewares, lasted only a few seconds, but it could have been far worse.
According to police documents submitted to the court, Ebejer was already free on bond when he was accused of peeing on fresh food at a Woolworths on George Street just one month prior.
Ebejer seemed composed in court as his attorney requested release due to mental health concerns, but the judge denied the request.
Tomorrow, Ebejer will take the court once more.
