A four-year-old girl was attacked by a dingo and transported to the hospital.
Just before 11.15 a.m. today, dingoes in the area approached the girl who was fishing near NgKala Rocks on the eastern side of the island with a large group of people, including eight children, according to Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service.
She had scars and bruises from the dingo biting her in the chest area.
“A nearby doctor examined the child and rangers advised the family to meet with paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service as a precaution,” according to the department.
After evaluating the kid, paramedics flew her in stable condition to Hervey Bay Hospital.
Rangers in Queensland advise tourists to travel in groups, keep kids close at hand, carry a safety stick, and keep a safe distance from dingoes in order to be dingo safe.
