In Adelaide, a guy who is accused of punching a coward and leaving the other man battling for his life has been denied bail.
The punch that rendered 20-year-old Jordan Dodd unconscious in the early hours of Sunday morning on Hindley Street is allegedly delivered by 23-year-old Craig Sansbury-Weetra.
While Dodd’s family attended a tearful hearing today, he remained on life support in the hospital.
The courtroom was packed with families meeting for the first time, and there was a noticeable police presence.
Finding out he would stay behind bars until his next court date in November, Sansbury-Weetra buried his head in his hands.
Dodd’s family was happy with the outcome.
Girlfriend Dakota Leo said, “We’re just so happy that we got the result we were able to hope for right now.”
Friends and family are still maintaining watch.
“They’re trying everything to make him Jordan again, and he’s doing really well,” sister Jaymia Dodd stated.
“I’ve been at his bedside telling him, ‘I’m here you’re gonna be alright, you’re a fighter’.”
