His girlfriend in Adelaide has revealed that her “heart broke into a million pieces” over the man who is reportedly fighting for his life after being knocked out.
Jordan Dodd, 20, has several brain bleeds and is still in serious condition in the hospital. His alleged attacker is appearing in court today.
Dodd, who is said to be a charming, football-mad larrikin, is reportedly unconscious following the alleged attack on the city’s Hindley Street.
Dodd was knocked out just before 5.30am yesterday after being struck from behind.
He sustained two brain bleeds, damaged lungs, many facial fractures, and a lung infection.
“Seeing my boyfriend lay there in a hospital bed with tubes down his throat forcing him to breathe with blood horrifying,” Dakota Leo, his girlfriend, said.
“They had to remove a piece of his skull so they could get it out, then they’ve put something in his head.”
Dakota Leo thinks her boyfriend was attacked because he shielded her from some girls.
“She goes, ‘I’ll show you what’s dog’ and grabs me by my hair and rips me and someone smashes me on this side,” recounted Leo.
“Someone smashes me here and I got took to the floor and that’s when my boyfriend came running in,” said Leo.
“He was yelling at the girls and then the dude proceeds to run up behind him and jab him in the back of the head,” Craig Weetra, a 23-year-old male from Clearview, was reportedly apprehended close by.
He was accused of assault with the intent to cause serious harm today in court.
His brother and girlfriend were also present in court.
Weetra has requested home confinement. Weetra allegedly stomped on the victim’s chest, hit him in the head, and then fled, according to the prosecution.
“My heart broke into a million pieces,” stated Leo.
“I just hope he gets better.”Girlfriend claims to have seen an alleged attack that left the man critically injured.
