After fatally murdering his partner in their Kewdale home, a Perth parent was given a 20-year prison sentence.
In April 2023, Steven Dean attacked Emmerich Lasakar while he was under the influence of drugs.
After that, he left Lasakar to perish in front of their two kids and drove off.
Emmerick Lasakar, 35, was discovered at a house on Knutsford Avenue in Kewdale with severe injuries.
She was taken to Perth Royal Hospital, where she passed away last night.
In July 2023, Dean, 37, entered a guilty plea in Perth Magistrates Court.
The attack was called “one of the most serious examples of domestic violence” by the judge today.
Despite the sentence, Diana, Lasakar’s sister, expressed the ongoing suffering in her family.
“No matter how many years he’s in there, it doesn’t bring our sister back,” she stated.
After twenty years, Dean will be eligible for parole.
