A man is undergoing surgery and is in critical condition following an alleged attack by a coworker that resulted in the amputation of one of his legs.
In coastal Perth, a nice samaritan discovered the leg’s remains by the side of the road.
The victim ran away on foot from a nearby work site, causing traffic in City Beach to come to a complete stop.

A 29-year-old employee of Trae Black’s allegedly hit and stalked him in a Mazda ute.
Below the knee, his right leg was amputated.
Blood was all over the West Coast Highway following the reported attack.
Around 11:20 a.m., Nick Black was one of the people who stopped to assist.
“He was asking for water and was quite alarmed,” he stated.
After using her handbag strap as a makeshift tourniquet, an orthopaedic doctor discovered the remnants of his leg.
“Later on I found his amputated leg up on the bank, put that in a bag and provided that to paramedics,” she continued.
The onlookers who assisted him, according to the police, probably saved his life.
While numerous police conducted an investigation, the highway was blocked in both directions.
It all began at a building site on Catesby Street in City Beach, a few hundred meters distant.
Black reportedly ran away on foot when a coworker from a different location came looking for him.
The two males, who were acquainted, got into a fight, according to the police.
The other man allegedly used what witnesses have described as a demolition hammer to smash the windscreen of a car that was parked outside.
Police divers are scanning the ocean for that missing tool.
According to a statement from WA Police, “it is believed the victim was struck by the vehicle before being assaulted with a hammer.”
Less than 15 minutes after the police were called, a 25-year-old male was taken into custody close to the area.
Investigators are now requesting that anyone with dash cam footage of the events come forward.
