In a horrifying home fire in Melbourne’s East, a father and son have perished.
Just before 4 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to a house on Craig Road in Donvale after it caught fire.
Calvin Reeder, 61, and his son Brendan, 14, were discovered dead inside.
After being dispatched to the location, almost thirty firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading to any surrounding properties.
In a panic, nearby residents reached for hoses in an attempt to put out the fire.
Within forty-five minutes, the fire was brought under control, but the house was completely destroyed, with the roof crashing in.
At the site, family members of the victims could be seen comforting one another.
Police are not considering the fire suspicious at this time.
