Following an alleged car theft and hit-run in Melbourne’s CBD last week, a man has been taken into custody.
Around 3 p.m. on Thursday, the incident started as Jinwoo Song was unloading stuff from his red Ford four-wheel drive.
While the victim clung to the bonnet, police claim the man got into the car and drove off.
While Song and his companion BiBi Kim were unloading groceries at their new flat on Hardware Street, they had left their Ford running.
He tried to halt the heist, but was left with terrible injuries.
“The hospital’s attending physician declared, ‘It’s miraculous. You’re extremely fortunate yet unlucky,” he said.
“Here, the tyre was approaching my head, arms and torso. “Because I was rolled I thought, ‘I’m gonna be dead, I’m gonna be dead.'”
Just before 2:00 PM today, a 27-year-old male was taken into custody at a Melbourne house on Elizabeth Street.
Detectives will now interview him.
According to the police, the purportedly stolen vehicle is still unaccounted for.
