In the wake of an alleged hit-and-run on the Gold Coast, a lady has been charged with drunk driving.
According to the police, at around 10 p.m. yesterday, a black Nissan Juke and a white Kia Rio crashed head-on on the Gold Coast Highway close to Tedder Avenue in Surfers Paradise.
The Nissan’s driver is then said to have exited the vehicle and fled the scene.
The Kia’s driver was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
An Eagleby woman, 37, was later located and taken into custody, according to the police.
She faces one count each of operating a car dangerously, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, neglecting to stay at the scene and provide aid, and operating a vehicle without a valid license.
A notice to appear in court on July 19 was given to the woman.
