Following the discovery of a woman’s death at a waste management facility in northeast Melbourne, a murder investigation has been launched.
On Wednesday, while relocating green garbage at the Epping plant on Cooper Street, staff members noticed the find.
The woman has not yet been recognized, but she will be after the post-mortem results are in from the police.
According to police, the woman is thought to have been inside a bin that was picked up on Tuesday from outside a house in Coolaroo and transported to the facility in Epping.
To figure out what happened, police are collecting CCTV footage from people on the street.
The police are contacting anyone who may have dashcam or CCTV footage from Sunday of last week through Tuesday.
“Detectives are also keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around that time,” police stated.
