After serving four months in jail on allegations of sexually abusing eight women he met on dating apps and social media, a wedding singer from Queensland has been granted bail.
Daniel James Stoneman, 34, of Logan’s Shailer Park filed an application for bail today on 52 counts, which include four counts of attempted rape, three counts of rape, 24 counts of disseminating personal pictures, and one count each of choking, recording in violation of privacy, and unlawful stalking.
His attorney told the judge that his client had threatened suicide and posed a risk to his safety while inside. In order to lower the likelihood that he would commit another crime, Stoneman’s bail terms included a ban from using social media, dating apps, and performing in bars or other public spaces.
The court was informed of this willingness.
Stoneman was given harsh conditions for his freedom, which included living with his parents, finishing a relationship education course, and adhering to a curfew at night.
Judge Thomas Bradley granted the bail.
