Son shares family’s suffering following suspected DV murder of mother-of-three

Sarah Miles is a mother who was reportedly killed at Casino in northern New South Wales by her partner.

While authorities look into how long it took for officers to arrive, her distraught son has expressed his sorrow and said that his life would never be the same.

The mother-of-three, according to authorities, is the 47th woman to die as a result of what top police are characterising as a national crisis of domestic violence.

In an exclusive interview with Mark News, her son Shayden Miles stated that the entire family is devastated.

“Words cannot describe the pain that I am feeling at the moment,” he stated.

“My mother was an extremely resilient individual who never gave up. “I’m so proud of her and I’m proud, I’m proud to have her as my mother and I’m proud to have been her son.”

Mr. Miles questioned how long it took for the cops to show up at the location.

“It’s not just a loss, it’s also dealing with the fact that she was waiting for an hour on the floor and that is something that will stay with me for the rest of my life,” he stated.

Police are looking into why it took them nearly an hour to respond to the call; the independent Law Enforcement Conduct Commission will be in charge of this investigation.

“The NSWPF are investigating the circumstances of the incident and this investigation will be reviewed by the Professional Standards Command,” the LECC stated in a statement.

“The LECC is independently monitoring the investigation of the critical incident under Part 8 of the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission Act 2016 to ensure public confidence in the investigation.”

The house in the quaint hamlet of Casino is still the scene of a crime.

Dwayne John Creighton, Ms. Miles’ partner, is accused of murder.

Sarah was discovered by the police with injuries to her cheek and head, according to Mark News.

Investigations are still ongoing to determine the official cause of death.

When Creighton appeared this morning via video link from his holding cell, he did not request bail.

Tomorrow, the 31-year-old is scheduled to appear before a Lismore magistrate.
