After he was allegedly discovered in a museum north of Sydney with knives and military gear, a 19-year-old man was taken into custody.
At 1:30 p.m. today, police reported receiving a welfare report on the male.
He was taken into custody when police broke into the Newcastle Museum on Workshop Way. Police found and seized things, including tactical gear and knives, after conducting a search.
“Following further inquiries officers became aware of the existence of a document that had been circulated to a number of public figures and media outlets,” police claimed.
At the Newcastle Police Station is the teenager.
“The male is currently assisting police and there is no ongoing threat to the community relating to this investigation,” police stated.
It is believed that the teenager paid a quick visit to Newcastle MP Tim Crakanthorp’s office.
“I am aware that an event occurred in Newcastle today. He stated, “I spoke with the police, and they told me that no one was hurt and that they are handling the problem.”
“I have been advised that the individual briefly walked in and out of my office, he left before making any contact with my staff.”
