One of a well-known AFL family has been accused with sexual offences.
Victoria Police’s Sexual Offences Squad charged the man today; this afternoon he before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.
Although he comes from a well-known family with connections to an AFL team, a suppression order issued by the magistrate prevents any sort of identification or naming of him.
The individual has two counts of rape and three counts of common law assault levied upon him.
The claimed offences happened in Melbourne’s east over two weeks in January.
The court heard the individual had never been in detention before.
On several restrictions, including not to leave the country, he was freed on bond.
Before the man’s next appearance in the upcoming weeks, Mark News intends to challenge the suppression order.
