A guy from Adelaide was apprehended and is anticipated to face murder charges upon his return to Australia from Cambodia.
Authorities claim the man was responsible for the stabbing death of Thea Kheav on December 1, 2007, during an 18th birthday celebration in Adelaide’s north, in Parafield Gardens.
After being detained by police at Melbourne Airport this morning, the 36-year-old man will be extradited to South Australia tonight, where charges are anticipated to be brought against him.
Already, three individuals have been found guilty of murder and given life sentences without the possibility of release for a 20-year period.
Four weeks after the death, police claim a fourth person was involved and left Australia.
In 2008, detectives tried to extradite him from Cambodia, but the Supreme Court of Cambodia denied their request, resulting in his release.
The man from Salisbury North, who was seized by authorities in Bangkok, was flown back to Melbourne at 7.30 this morning.
It is anticipated that the man will land in South Australia this evening.
