A water main ruptured early this morning, resulting in damage to a house and automobile as well as more than 80 households losing water.
The explosion occurred just before six in the morning on Craigmore’s Uley Road, and the force of it threw rubble and asphalt skyward.
Paul Presbury, a resident, reported that as soon as he opened his front door, he heard pebbles hitting the neighbor’s roof and that his land was flooded.
“It was flowing through the carport and through the backyard, so it was just water everywhere,” he explained.
As seen According to Jye Argent, the water appeared to be shooting upwards of 10 meters.
“There was water gushing out from the road and just smashing someone’s house,” stated the man.
In order to allow for immediate repairs, Uley Road’s two lanes of traffic were stopped, and 83 residences in the neighborhood lost their water supply.
After about two and a half hours, the water supply was restored when it was discovered that the main was actually a worn-out service pipe.
The wrecked car’s owner is currently looking into filing an insurance claim.
