At the age of 94, renowned Australian actor Brian Wenzel passed away.
It is believed that the Logie winner, best known for playing A Country Practice’s Frank Gilroy, passed away in a South Australian nursing home a few weeks before his 95th birthday on May 24.
“We remember the life of beloved Australian actor Brian Wenzel with great sadness,” stated Jennifer Hennessy, Wenzel’s agent.
His wit and humor carried through to the very end of his legendary and beloved performances, which touched many Australian generations.
“A passionate family man and devoted Carlton supporter leaves an irreplaceable mark on the Australian film and television industry.”
Wenzel made his acting debut at the age of seventeen, most famously playing Mr. Cox in Brooklyn Nine’s The Young Doctors.
After that, he spent 12 years as Frank Gilroy on A Country Practice.
In 1981, Wenzel won a Silver Logie Award for Best Actor for his performance as Gilroy.
The actor departs from Linda Wenzel, his 67-year wife.
