Following his alleged assault “over a reasonably prolonged period” at a residence north of Brisbane, a 23-year-old man passed away in the hospital.
A man and woman have been charged with murder in connection with the incident.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police were summoned to a rural property along Mclean Road at Mount Mee regarding accusations of an assault. When they arrived, they allegedly discovered the 23-year-old Eagle Farm man partially buried alive, unconscious, and with significant head injuries.
Detective Acting Inspector Joe Zitny stated today that the individual had sustained several serious injuries to his body, adding that the “injuries occurred over a reasonably prolonged period of time”.
After being taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, the guy passed away on Friday night from his wounds.
The man was reportedly discovered outside the front of one of the houses on the land.
There are charges against a 21-year-old woman and a 23-year-old male who were discovered in the house next to the injured victim. The charges include murder, torture, common assault, loss of liberty, grievous bodily harm, and other offenses.
Zitny stated that after the couple had resided at the property for four to eight weeks, it seemed the woman had contacted Triple Zero.
The man’s cause of death, he said, would be ascertained by a post-mortem on Tuesday. Days later, divers were still actively combing a dam for evidence at the crime site.
Zitny stated that although the guy knew the two people charged with his murder, there was no connection between the alleged offenses and domestic abuse.
He verified that the police were investigating narcotics as a means of determining ties between the victim and the two.

The 21-year-old lady is scheduled to make her court return on May 7 at Caboolture Magistrates Court, however she is still being held on remand.
The 23-year-old guy is still being held on remand and is scheduled to make his court return on July 4 at Caboolture Magistrates Court.
