The distraught boyfriend of a woman who died in a three-vehicle collision in Brisbane has disclosed that he intended to pop the question to her later this year.
On Wednesday, while traveling on the Legacy Way Tunnel at Mount Coot-tha, Emma McLean, a 23-year-old from South Australia, and Lily Galbraith, a 24-year-old from the Northern Territory, were struck from behind.
Galbraith perished in the crash along with another person, and McLean is still in the hospital getting better.
Galbraith, who was in Brisbane for a wedding with her best friend, was an intensive care nurse at Flinders Private Hospital.
Blayde Brummelhuis, her partner, disclosed that he was considering popping the question later this year.
“Everything I’m trying to do, what Lily would’ve wanted me and everyone to do, and that’s look out for everyone else,” he exclusively stated.
Brummelhuis expressed his desire to know the cause and manner of the collision that resulted in their car colliding with a small truck, as well as the death of former police officer Bruce Daley.
“I simply didn’t think it was true; I know nobody else did either. He remarked, “I just couldn’t stop thinking about all we did together and hoping everything would work out.
Darwin, where Galbraith was born, will host her funeral. Mark News is aware that Adelaide will hold a memorial ceremony as well.
“She lived in five states and there’s so many people that she managed to touch their hearts,” Brummelhuis stated.
In Brisbane, McLean is still in an induced coma, surrounded by her fiancé and family.
