After a firebug attacked the McLaren that was parked on the street late last night, an opulent vehicle valued at about $400,000 was completely destroyed.
Hamad Ajajz paid $350,000 for the McLaren little over a year ago, and police are currently searching for the person responsible for starting the fire in Sefton, in Sydney’s west. The offender was shown on security tape using a pizza box.
Just three days ago, the father-of-three and builder put the car up for sale on the internet.
Now that it has been destroyed, Ajajz describes it as “very upsetting.”
He remarked, “I can’t even look at it.”
However, this was not a formal position.
Video shows an umbrella-wielding, obliging man with a lighter and some cardboard.
He comes on Rodd Street just before 11 p.m.
He fires a pizza box and his umbrella shields a flickering flame.
He is compelled to hide behind a tree from oncoming cars as he waits for his homemade firebomb to expand.
Before running off, he slips the torch beneath the bumper.
The neighbors’ attempts to douse the flames with water failed.
Merely moments before firemen started putting out the fire, Hamad and his kid arrived home.
Honestly, it’s devastating. The manner in which we entered and witnessed it catching fire,” he sobbed.
Nobody, in my opinion, is looking out for us.
“He probably wanted to go for a ride and I never maybe didn’t give him the chance to , maybe.”
