At a well-known Victorian beach this morning, a man was retrieved from the ocean and tragically lost his life.
A man was reported to be unconscious, so about 10.15 a.m., emergency personnel were summoned to The Esplanade at Torquay Beach.
The victim passed away at the site despite attempts by members of the public to administer CPR.
According to Victoria Police, there is no reason for concern regarding this death.
The man’s identity is still pending, and authorities are getting ready to submit a report to the coroner.
It is unknown what caused him to pass away.
It happens after at least 26 people in Victoria lost their lives to drowning during the previous summer.
