Following a raid on a rural home in southern New South Wales, a 25-year-old man is being charged with many offenses after a variety of allegedly stolen items, including weapons, power tools, and lizards, were found.
Around 200 kilometers to the west of Canberra, near Humula, police carried out the operation on Wednesday at 6.45 a.m.
Allegedly pilfered items included three firearms, ammo, three trail bikes, a luxury watch, a chainsaw, a lawnmower, a hedge cutter, RMS road signs, number plates, and a bogie trailer.
Four shingleback blue tongue lizards were also discovered.
The National Parks and Wildlife Services confiscated these items upon discovering that the individual lacked the required permit to possess the endangered native fauna.
Along with hunting supplies like tracking collars, breast plates, hunting knives, and a GPS handheld tracking module, drugs like cannabis and methamphetamine were also found.
After being brought to the Holbrook Police Station, the man was accused of a number of crimes, including dealing in protected species, stealing, damaging property, and having firearms without a permit.
In addition, he is charged with poaching offenses, such as going onto agricultural land to kill animals without permission.
Before his next court date on May 14, the 25-year-old was denied bail when he appeared in a Wagga Wagga court yesterday.
